Ed Mcilvain Guitar & Vocals
Ed plays with a rhythmic, percussive style and sings harmonies. He’s also the lead songwriter. His music reflects a wide variety of influences from the Beatles to the Ramones, the Meters to Martin Sexton – but jazz and New Orleans have been his biggest inspiration most recently. Ed’s involvement in the Denver music scene was highlighted by a 20+ year stint hosting Swallow Hill Music’s much-loved Open Stage. Now, he’s happily digging some fresh roots in his new home state.
Tamra Mcilvain Lead Vocals & Percussion
Tamra has a versatile vocal style and can belt the blues, then transition effortlessly to a Spanish love song or classic country ballad. She aptly covers this mash of genres and artists while singing with a voice that’s uniquely her own. Proudly born and raised in The 505, Tamra also has a love for all things 504 (talking to you N’awlins). She’s excited to be back in New Mexico, a place her family has called home for generations and where much of her extended family lives.
Dave Friedlander Guitar & Vocals
Albuquerque’s Dave Friedlander and his hot licks hail from Boston where he spent his formative years studying alongside many of the area’s guitar greats. At seventeen, he attended the Guitar Institute of Technology with Frank Gambale and Scott Henderson. At GIT, he had the opportunity for one-on-one sessions with Joe Pass and Joe Diorio. Later at Berklee College of Music, Dave studied with Mike Goodrick. During the 80s, Dave played bass as part of the nine-piece band, Prescription Horns, opening for Tower of Power and other international acts. More recently, he played and toured with NM’s Ben Martinez Project, a fusion jazz sextet. In 2018, Dave released the original CD, Reflections.
